Hi there! I’m Ragna, the Arctic Mudi, and This Is My Story!

3–4 minutes

Woof, woof! Hi everyone! My name is Ragna, and I’m a 3-year-old Mudi living in the magical Arctic Circle. I have a pretty cool life (pun intended!), because I get to live and “work” at one of the most beautiful places on Earth—the Aurora Lounge Hotel, a cozy igloo hotel where people from all over the world come to witness the Northern Lights.

Let me tell you a little about myself. My name, Ragna, has a special meaning. It’s based on Viking mythology, specifically Ragnarök—the great cycle of the end of the universe and the birth of a new one. My human friends thought this was a powerful name for me, and I think it suits me well! After all, I’m full of energy, always ready to bring happiness, and—just like Ragnarök represents a new beginning—I’m always meeting new people and making new friends.

Now, about my “job.” You could say I’m the official welcoming committee at the hotel. Every time new guests arrive, I’m the first to greet them with a wagging tail and a big smile! I can’t help it—I love people! It doesn’t take me long to make new friends, and before you know it, I’m following them around the igloos, playing in the snow, and making sure they feel right at home.

One of my favorite things to do is take our guests on little adventures. Whether it’s a walk through the snowy trails, a playful romp in the snow, or just sitting together under the Northern Lights, I love being part of their special moments here. The more time I spend with them, the more attached I get, and I think they get attached to me, too. Sometimes they even share treats with me (my favorite!).

But… there’s a bit of a downside. You see, I get really attached to our guests, and when it’s time for them to leave, it makes me sad. I often find myself sitting by the door after they’ve gone, hoping they’ll come back for just one more snuggle. It’s always hard to say goodbye, but I know they have to return to their homes. At least I get to be part of their memories, and that makes me happy. Plus, I’m sure they’ll never forget the little Mudi they met in the Arctic Circle.

Living here in the Arctic Circle has its perks. I get to experience all the seasons in such a unique way. The summers are full of sunshine—sometimes the sun doesn’t set for weeks, which means lots of time to play! And in winter, we have the opposite: long nights of Kaamos, when the sun never rises. But that’s okay, because the snow-covered landscapes are so peaceful, and I love playing in the cold. And of course, the Northern Lights! Oh, how magical they are. Sometimes, I lie down in the snow and just watch them dance across the sky. It’s like living in a dream.

If you’re a dog lover, you’ll be happy to know that our hotel is pet-friendly! So, if you decide to visit us, you can bring your furry friend along. I’ll be more than happy to make a new doggie friend, too.

So, that’s me! Ragna, the Arctic Mudi, always here to welcome you with open paws. If you ever find yourself looking for an unforgettable adventure, come visit us at the Aurora Lounge Hotel. I’ll be waiting to meet you, and I promise we’ll have the best time together. Just be prepared—when it’s time for you to leave, I might get a little sad, but that’s only because you’ve become part of my story.

I can’t wait to meet you and make you part of my world!

Woof,
Ragna 🐾
